Welcome to Les Enfants, Inc. "A Different Preschool" |
| "Children will thrive in environments where they do not fear being evaluated, where they can make mistakes and learn from them, and where they do not need to strive to meet someone else's standard of excellence." |

Program Philosophy
 |
| Welcome and thank you for taking the time to visit the Les Enfants web site. Even though Les Enfants was established in Los Angeles in 1989, it has roots overseas dating back to 1952. Our reputation for quality has allowed us to continue providing early education and care in a professional manner. |
| Our goal as child care professionals is to provide a warm safe environment where children can learn to feel good about themselves; where they can have play experiences within a group which fosters optimal development to their individual ages and abilities. Emphasis is placed on the individual cognitive, social, emotional and physical development for each child.
|
| In 1998, Les Enfants, a non-profit organization, began the intense process of building a state-of the-art facility that the school moved to in June 1999. This warm, charming and home-like center serves infants through Pre-Kindergarten. The standards of excellence in program development, child-care staff selection and incentive programs and parent rapport are among its outstanding features. |
| We would like for you to get to know us. We invite you to compare our school with other pre-schools as you seek the finest program for your child. Personal tours of the school are designed to introduce you to our program, philosophy and facility. Please feel free to observe, ask questions and come in for another visit as you make this important decision for your child. We look forward to the privilege of sharing in your family's early childhood experience. |
Program Goals
 |
| Our goal as early childhood educators is to provide a warm, safe, loving environment where children can learn to feel good about themselves where they can have many play experiences within a group, which foster optimal development to their individual ages and abilities. Children will be introduced to various activities including art, music, movement and dance, reading and math readiness through felt board storytelling and puppets, science and cooking, and will be able to make choices within a structured yet flexible schedule. Emphasis will be placed on the individual cognitive, social, emotional and physical development of each child. |
| In such an environment the need for discipline should be minimal. Most children misbehave out of frustration and as adults we can model positive alternatives for negative behavior. By incorporating active listening and words, children can learn, with the aid of an adult, how to problem solve and come to a peaceful resolution in situations of conflict. If a child is threatening to themselves or another, they will be removed from the situation, redirected, allowed to calm down, and return as soon as they are able to do so. |
