Visitation
Les Enfants, Inc. invites parents to drop in for a visit at any time. This does NOT include parents of infants and toddlers who are still in the process of separation. Please stop at the front desk and let us know that you are observing. We do ask that parents refrain from interrupting classroom activities. Messages to your child's teacher can be forwarded through the message center at the front desk. Parents who wish to speak to a teacher about their child must make an appointment to meet with the teacher at a mutually convenient time. During school hours, teachers are focused on the children in their care and other classroom activities and will be unable to receive you. If your child is in the process of separation, please call us before you drop in.
Arrival Time
Upon arriving, please stop in the office and sign your child's name in our daily register. We strongly urge all parents to drop off preschool age children no later than 9:30 a.m. It is very disruptive to have children arrive at 15 minute intervals and disturb the class. Please walk your child to his/her class and present them to the teacher on duty. Beginning the school day ON TIME allows your child to participate in valuable social interaction and participate in valuable social interaction and learning experiences, which would otherwise be missed. It assists in the child's full participation and enjoyment of school experiences. Circle time is when new classroom activities are introduced to the group and it begins at 10:00 a.m. We ask that all of the children arrive no later than 9:30 so that they can easily join the group activities. If you arrive late and the program is already in session, please say goodbye quietly before opening the door so that classroom activities remain undisturbed and your child can join the group with ease. When you must arrive late, please notify the office.
Signing In & Out
The state of California requires that all children be walked into the center by an adult as well as signed in and out of school daily. Signature sheets are located on the front desk. These signature sheets are for documentation purposes and should be used by adults only. Please sign your full name, not initials, and time of arrival and departure.
Parent Conferences
Parent conferences are scheduled at the time progress reports are distributed. Parents are encouraged to request additional meetings whenever one is desired. At times teachers will request conferences when they feel it appropriate for the child's needs. Each year the school invites a guest speaker in the field of child development from major universities or authors of prominent books. At other times, videos and lectures by school administrators will be presented. The purpose of these parent development programs is to help parents understand their child's developmental process.
Parent Involvement
We encourage parents to participate in their children's school activities in any way they are comfortable. The best schools are those with greatest parent involvement and children who benefit most from their experiences at school are those whose parents are INVOVED. 30 hours of volunteer work a year is required per family. Parents who wish to share ideas on a more informal or spontaneous basis are invited to speak directly to the school director or administrator or place their comments in the school suggestion box.
