Please ask to personally meet the teachers for your child's age group during your tour. They will be happy to greet you and answer any particular questions you may have. Most families develop close relationships with their children's teachers that last beyond their years at Les Enfants, and families continue to return to the school to enroll their second or third child.

Founder & Director

Nancy founded Les Enfants in 1989, and has been the Director since its inception. She has been a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children since 1989 and is also a member of the Santa Monica Child Care Task Force and UCLA / Connections for Children Directors Committee.

Nancy places emphasis on staying current on the issues involving early childhood education by reading professional journals, attending workshops and task force meetings, and being a member of several professional organizations.

Before opening her own school, Nancy worked as a college instructor at several universities and colleges including: California State University, Santa Monica College, Glendale College, Tehran University, Tufts University, and Harvard University. One of her proudest moments was teaching at Harvard’s Experimental College upon receiving her B.A. in Biology. Nancy also worked as a preschool teacher at Crème de la Crème in Houston. Her education includes a B.A. degree from Grinnell College, an M.A. in Sociology from Goddard College, Ph.D. studies at Harvard University, and studies in Early Childhood Education from the Department of Education at UCLA.

Nancy's vast experience and educational background has helped her maintain a quality preschool for more than 25 years. In 1997, she oversaw the purchase of a vacant lot and built the current school with the addition of an infant center. She is the proud mother of a teenage son.

Administrative Assistant

Cindy has several years' experience working with attorneys, accountants, and professionals in the entertainment industry. She has completed courses in Administration for Early Childhood Education Programs and Child Development courses from UCLA. Being a mother of two boys keeps her very busy. She has been with Les Enfants since December 1999.

All staff have B.A. or A.A. degrees in Child Development, as well as CPR Certification. Though the child-care and preschool field is reputed to have a high occurrence of teacher turnover, many Les Enfants teachers have been with the school for many years. There is a parent-sponsored and school-supported bonus program for rewarding teachers for their seniority, as well as rewards for teachers continuing their Child Development education. Les Enfants continues to enhance our administration through a full-time trainer that assists in the continual development of staff and curriculum.
